how many of you have thought of having a dress made just for you? don't know a seamstress? it's easier then you think! etsy has so many amazing dress shops...these two shops caught our eye this week. This ruffle number from katie jean is soooooo amazing.

there are no rules anymore, and short wedding dresses are so much fun! sash couture has some beauties to choose from!

bethany & caleb's pottery engagement...

bethany and caleb met in college, became friends... and then became "more than friends." now this perfect little couple is tying the knot in early june. i'm beyond excited to be a part of their wedding and adore both of them! while visiting during christmas, we braved the cold and windy weather for a few pictures. after fighting the wind and rain, i suggested we try something a little different... paint pottery. of course caleb gave me the "oh great face," and i'm pretty sure bethany was thinking the same thing... BUT it was soooo fun! we ventured to the artgarden and put caleb's graphic design background to work! the final was awesome!!!!

as a side note... i've grown fond of sessions where our couples forget the camera's in their face, and relax. you get to see personalities come out, and it's so fun to get to know our couples in this new light.... thank you bethany and caleb for freezing your buns off, throwing some paint around and laughing the whole time! huge hugs and excited for the big day!

caleb said choosing their mug colors was their first big "married decision"...

it definately took some discussion! haha! ;)

a perfect couple...they have the same concentration face!

i had the genius idea to have bethany kiss the cup so it was her actual lip prints.... we (i) didn't factor in that the cup was rounded... needless to say it didn't work so well, but it got a good laugh! :)

caleb's graphic design degree was put to good use... and he saved our lips :)

mirielle & jorge's tri-cities wedding...

mirielle and jorge are total hotness! after our engagement session with them we knew we were seriously lucky!!! needless to say they didn't disappoint on their wedding day either... sigh! these two and their incredible wedding parties braved the freezing weather conditions, got a serious case of wind burn, slightly rained on and smiled the whole time. it was totally worth it because their pictures turned out incredible! it's hard to narrow down your favorites for a blog post, and these few images barely scratch the surface... mirielle and jorge thank you for letting us be a part of your amazing day. we feel so honored to have spent the day with you, and so excited to call you friends! god bless!

nicole and ross are simply wonderful. every wedding day should be approached with a certain amount of humor and these two did. through all the wedding day jitters they smiled, laughed and made the most of it.... we even got a "crouching jonda, hidden photographer" out of ross, which almost caused us to die laughing... if you've even been in front of our cameras, you know how true that statement is :)... these two tied the know at the lovely cave b winery and resort. thanks nicole and ross for all the laughs and fond memories! god bless and huge hugs!

heather & elisha yellow canoe engagement session...

this was one of our all time favorite engagement sessions... it incorporated a yellow canoe, snow and tons of personality! heather and elisha were made for each other... she's a fabulous photographer (click here) and he's a avid outdoors man. we decided to bring those fun elements together, and froze their buns off in the process... as you can tell it was for an excellent cause! shortly after these images they eloped... such a smart thing to do ;) thank you heather and elisha for letting us capture these images... you guys were rock stars putting up with our crazy suggestions! hope the feeling in your toes come back ;) hugs to all and enjoy!

this sweet girl froze her little-tiny b-hind off! it was stinking freezing and after several warnings, she threw on her dress and strutted her stuff. she has serious girl power! the clouds parted for five minutes and we took advantage of every second. thank micheala for being so darned adorable! good luck with everything you do in 2012!

with the weather turning chilly, it's a good time to remember the warm days of summer... and nothing says summer like a beach wedding! sarah and aaron met while working together, in chelan, so it would only make sense that's where they said their "i do's."

sarah and aaron have an amazing love. it only takes a second in their presence to understand what we're talking about.... he is her perfect match, and she was created for him. this little wedding had so many wonderful moments, incredible friends and loving families. the boys arrived to the ceremony by boat. aaron's father was the officiant, and tears flowed freely. the bridesmaids were a riot! the groomsmen choreographed a skit about aaron's life that included costumes, and it was epic! last but not least, these two started their "happily ever after" in style. thank you sarah and aaron for everything, we were truly blessed to be a part of this wedding. wishing you many blessings, and much happiness!

we need to point out that everyone should hire a coordinator or event planner! we had the pleasure of working with loreen jenkins of true expressions wedding planning, and we're believers! if you want an effortless, worry free and insanely beautiful event... check her out! planners and coordinators are worth their weight in gold! AND a quick thank you to margie lou for second shooting for me... you're a super rockstar, my dear! can't wait until next time ;)

the boys put together a little surprise... they re-enacted the life of aaron including birth, several occupations and meeting the love of his life.... below in red, is sarah's brother playing her as a waitress when she met aaron for the first time :) this brought down the house... loved these boys! :)

we love fall... leaves, crisp air, carmel apple cider and COLOR... yay!!! jamie and terry picked a perfect location to showcase the great outdoors... and the crisp air, got them snuggly! these two weren't too sure about "cuddly" pictures, but after showing them their hottness... they changed their minds :) moral of the story... get "cuddly".. hehehe! huge hugs jamie and terry! we can't wait until we see you again!

kathy and jeff's sleeping lady, leavenworth, wedding...

kathy and jeff are one-of-a-kind... their love is solid and inspiring. so inspiring, that many of their guest traveled thousands of miles to share their day with them.... yep, that kind of inspiring!

they met at work through coworkers. her friends were suggesting she meet him, and his friends were suggesting he meet her... when they finally met, it was the way he threw a football that made kathy's heart skip a beat. their office romance bloomed, and then life happened... school, jobs, peace corps and several years later jeff popped the question. with a huge yes, kathy and jeff merged their husky and oregon duck roots.

they decided to return to the pacific northwest for their wedding at the sleeping lady in leavenworth. planning a long distance wedding was difficult so they invested in the help of super star wedding coordinator, colleen simpson. she is worth her weight in gold, and made kathy and jeff's day a dream! the images prove it!

thank you kathy and jeff for choosing us to capture your day. we've been blessed by you!

below is the response to the best man's speech that started out something like... "when trying to figure out what to say, i learned that the best "best man" speeches only last as long as it takes the groom to "make love." thank you for your time"... and he walked off... only to come back and redeem himself with all kinds of wonderful stories. the reaction was perfect!

introducing dress #2... a sweet little number that appeared to be a good dancing choice...

so funny! i love kathy's face, but look at all the guests faces too!!!! bahaha!

totally had a case of friend envy... this is a dancing crew!!!!! i was informed by kathy that all they did during grad school (her and their friends) was dance... that's a grad school program i want to attend!

there's no question that this girl can take a pretty pictures. so, i wanted to show off a part of our session that i'm in love with... whenever i schedule a senior i like to get to know them. in that process i glean little fun tid bits that i like to incorporate into my session. when i was getting to know charli she said she wanted her pictures to reflect her bubbly personality... and then she listed a few things about herself. the one that caught my eye was she love for ice cream... wha-bam i got an idea, and we had a blast with a melty cone and a shopping cart. enjoy :)

lately i've been extremely absent from blogging, facebook and all the other forms of social media. my only excuse... life has been happening. i've had all these plans and good intentions of showing off several shoots, but those were "plans." i guess the good thing about being back is that there are so many incredible weddings and shoots coming your way, i might be forgiven ;)...

first on the long list... the wonderful wedding of shelly and jared. we adore this wedding because of all the handmade details, colors and the incredible church. as you look through these photos you will see that the brides hands were super busy leading up to the wedding. there is so much love and affection poured into every little detail, and it's that attention that makes this wedding amazing. all the flowers, banners, games and displays were personally made. the use of the historical church, the postcards that guests signed and the "hooray" banner on the cake. it's amazing!

shelly and jared... we are so excited you found each other, and can't wait to see where life takes you. thank you for letting us be a part of your wonderful day! god bless!

side note...the pioneer church is located in quincy. the church was built in 1904 by german-russian immigrants, and has been restored for the use of weddings and other faith based events. to keep this short and sweet... it's breathtaking.

instead of a traditional guest book... guests left messages for the bride and groom on a post card. the post cards will be received one at a time throughout the first year of their marriage. how fun is that?!

these two lovebirds were all smiles, sparkles and happiness... jenah and matt could hardly wait to get down the isle, and officially call each other husband and wife. it was an absolutely amazing day at the snoqualmie golf course and surrounded by family and friends these two finally got their wish. congratulations you two, we wish you all the happiness in the world. go cougs! ;)

matt and jenah made a box with letters to eachother, they nailed it shut during the ceremony and can't open it until their 10 year anniversary....how sweet is that. wish we would have thought of that one!

matt went to WSU and jenah went to UW....so this was their grooms cake, how perfect is that!

we have amazing clients and these two are some of our favorites... they're a hoot! we literally couldn't stop laughing with, and at them on their wedding day. from the beginning of the day, until the very end they never stopped smiling. the wedding took place at one of our favorite venues, hidden meadows, was expertly decorated in a red, black and white and catered by michael's on the lake. when you have an excellent venue, good food, fabulous friends and family... you're going to have one incredible wedding. yep... they did! no detail was left out, and so without wasting time lets get to the eye candy. thanks kristin and michael for everything! huge hugs and god bless!

ashley and kameron are a couple of crazy kids that have been dating since high school... it has been an honor to watch these two develop into the solid couple they are today, and to know the families that have been the backbone to their success. ashley and kameron were married out at one of our favorite venues, hidden meadow, and the day couldn't have been more beautiful. there were lots of tears, laughs, friends and family. it was so much fun to be apart of such a wonderful group! thank you sooooo much ashley and kameron for the opportunity to be a part of your day! as always, images are better than words..

wow! that's about the best way to describe nicole and will's wedding. it took place at one of our favorite venues hidden meadows, and to say that the day was amazing... is putting it lightly!

these two met in college while will was playing football for wsu. to say his family are huge couger fans... is an understatement! his young nephew carries a toy butch everywhere, the family bbq sports a "go cougs", and their wedding wouldn't have felt complete without an appearance from, the wsu mascot, butch the cougar!

there are so many wonderful things that we can say about this wedding... but all we really want to do is show off their pretties!!! thank you will and nicole for letting us be a part of your wonderful day. we are so blessed to call you friends! hugs!

these two love birds have known each other for quite a while, but as most of us know timing is everything... one day they were in the right place at the right time, and whhhaaabaaammm they realized they were meant to be! i think we may have set a record on this engagement shoot, as alyssa counted 18 mosquito bites and staci had 13...it was worth it! bryan and alyssa are going to have a beautiful winter wedding in spokane and we can't wait to be a part of it!

jessica and tony have been sweet on each other for awhile now... and to say that jessica was excited to become mrs. rachel and jamie... we can't say enough about these two. we totally fell in love with them at their engagement shoot, and if you don't remember it's totally worth checking out here. there is something about these two that inspires. from day one, rachel's attitude has been that she didn't care about the wedding details, all she wanted to do was marry jamie... to become his other half, and run off into the sunset... well that's what they did at the intimate gardens in moses lake! congratulations you two, and may you live happily ever after... sending huge hugs! :)

karly & jason's mesa orchard wedding...

karly and jason's wedding was ... visual heaven! if you are a diy bride this wedding is for you! every hand-painted sign, dress hanger, table setting, gazebo, magnet and soooo much more was created by the bride and many other wonderful hands. the small little details absolutely made this wedding unforgettable! ...
the ceremony took place on the bride's parents orchard that overlooks the columbia river. karly used several orchard themed ideas throughout her wedding. an old orchard ladder was a photo hanger, a juice bar with several fruit flavored drinks, buffet lines ran down rows of trees, and fruit adorned every table. yep, it was that awesome :)
AND not only was the setting mind-blowing, but the couple, bridal party and family were equally (if not more) amazing! karly's mom is on the top of my favorite mom's list! ok, so before this get's any sappier (yep, made up word)... here are the pictures that will make you understand what i'm talking about... karly and jason, you guys are an inspiration! it's refreshing to see how you love each other, your family and friends. may you lead an overly blessed life! hugs!

the moment below is priceless... the makeup artist had just finished karly's eyelashes and they were drying. at that same time karly's mom came downstairs and announced that a "suitor" had arrived. all of the sudden the tears came...

we were dealing with a goofy crew! :)

emily & joel's country chic moses lake wedding...

emily and joel were high school sweethearts... sigh... yep, they are that cute! both grew up in small towns, went to college, graduated, got real jobs and still their love was rock solid. one saturday afternoon, before family and friends, they said their "i do's" and started another adventure together.

during our consult emily told me about all her "do-it-yourself" projects... a rustic fence, 400 woven wheat rings, centerpiece boxes, flower arrangements. my head was spinning! when we arrived at hidden meadows in moses lake, my jaw dropped! this venue is beautiful on a regular basis, but nothing prepared us for all the country chic yumminess! feast your eyes on this lovely wedding...

emily and joel had their first look before formals... joel's face was perfect!... sigh... :)

we loved this incredible spin on the traditional unity candle!!! love the old lamp!

what is your favorite smell?

j: i've always been amused at how a smell can trigger a memory. because if that there are sooo many smells that i would consider a favorite.... if i was to narrow it down to one, fresh cut alfalfa. it reminds me of my childhood and my incredibly hard working parents.

s: coffee, i could sniff it all day long... the grinds especially! funny fact about staci... decaf coffee, can keep her up all night!

mountain hideaway or beach house?

j: i'm going to say beach house. there is something so laid back about the ocean. it's the perfect place for long walks, beautiful sunsets, sandcastles and good food. i'm pretty sure it's the laid-back stress-free feeling that appeals to me!

s: oooohhh thats a hard one. i'm going to say mountain hideaway, because during the summer you could enjoy hiking and biking and in the winter, skiing, snowmobiling and sledding...

...and just because i haven't shown a pic of my "super love bug" lately...

if you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?

j: 28... when i was in high school i remember reading an article in cosmopolitan that said the best age to marry a man was 28. their reason was because he was more mature, established in his job and most likely successful.... (and for all of those thinking it... no, i don't believe everything i read!) from then on, i was enamored with the age 28. i remember telling my great-grandmother that i was going to get married when i was 28, and she was horrified. she told me i would be an "old maid" .... well grams, i got married at 28 and it was a good, good year!

s: i'm going to say 35, i know i'm not there yet, jonda is close (haha), but you're a little established in life, you're a little wiser, a little smarter, yet still young enough to have fun!

if you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?

j: i honestly wouldn't change my name. my parents created my name by combining their middle names. i love how personal and unique it is! :)

s: schwanda... just say it out loud, it makes you laugh... ok, in all seriousness i think i would keep staci. i've always loved the name olivia, though... who knows!

i'm feeling some staci love today... this girl makes my world go round! besides being super talented she's the perfect lighting model. i'm so fortunate to work with someone this stinking cool! hugs lady!

if you were a crayon what color would you be?
j: hummm.... aqua or orange. i know it asks for one color, but who can really just pick one!
s: first of all did you know crayons originated in 1903? random fact of the day. i don't know the technical crayon name but some shade of bright green.

what is the first thing you notice about people?
j: eyes. i have a thing for beautiful eyes. i'm big on eye contact when talking to or listening to people. i'm always amazed by how may beautiful color combinations there are... my personal fav is light eyes combined with dark skin tones!
s: their smile. i like smiling.

we're so excited to bring you this little wedding on this fabulous friday! gerie and brian were married one rainy afternoon in may at the jamison's event center located in moses lake. gerie loves all things vintage and purple... so it was only fitting that she would find the most beautiful 1920's wedding ring, would be wearing two pairs of purple shoes on her wedding day and had the most incredible lace flower bouquets! yep, you read right... lace bouquets! oh oh, and she also made mustaches, lips and other props for her bridal party pictures!!! we love brides that think "outside the box" and gerie gets huge style points for being a creative rockstar! we hope she inspires others with her visions, so with out further ado... some tasty friday visual treats! thank you gerie and brian for letting us be a part of your wonderful day! god bless!

What do you do most when you're board?
j: eat... i'm keepin' it real! i'm not proud of it, but it's the truth. i'll bake cookies, banana bread or whatever my sweet tooth is asking for.
s: browse the web on my phone. seriously i know i have said it before, but i will have spent half my life browsing the internet.

if the year consisted of only one season, which would you choose?
j: fall... i love the cool weather, all the color, hot carmel apple cider, leaves, boots and snuggling!
s: spring... it's warm enough for cute dresses and sandals, but you're not sweating. i hate it when you get in the car it's 195 degrees and your chap-stick is always melting. big pet peeve of mine, melted chap-stick.

as you can see we have a hard time being serious in front of the camera...

it is officially wedding season...yeah!!!! we started off this year with a fabulous wedding at glover mansion in spokane. lorin and bryan are one of the sweetest couples, and family and friends braved the weird weather to celebrate their love... when we say weird weather, we are referring to the rain, clouds and sunshine. our personal favorite was when we had sunshine and rain at the same time! in the end everything worked out perfectly, and the happy couple said their "i do's" in the courtyard.... here is a little sample of all the goodness from lorin and bryan's day... congratulations you guys! sending huge hugs!

it's a cowboy meet's cowgirl, kind of story. one filled with wide open spaces, horses and good laughs. this whole session we couldn't stop laughing with will and nicole.... or maybe it was will laughing at us when we requested that "he look deeply" into nicole's eyes. cowboy giggles, are funny! :) i'm sure his internal "manly man" cried a little at the beginning of our session, but by the end he was a natural! we LOVE engagement sessions because it gives us the chance to connect with our brides and grooms, and makes the wedding day even more fun! thank you will and nicole for choosing us, and we can't wait to shoot your beautiful wedding! hugs!

what is the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning?

j: is the baby up, and do i have enough coffee creamer to make getting out of bed worth it? i like creamer with a hint of coffee :)

s: usually i'm hungry, what am i going to eat ... and then i run through the list of a gazillion thing i need to do during the day.

which store would you choose to max out your credit card?

j: crud, this is a hard one. first things first, i would die of a heart attack if i EVER maxed out my credit card. the thought makes my blood pressure soar... blah! BUT, if i was FORCED ;) to max it out... i'd probably hit up b&h photo... it wouldn't take long to max that bad boy out!

s:oh this is a tough one... can i pick two stores? first, i would choose pottery barn so i could get all new furniture and fun stuff for my house, and second i would love to go to nordstrom and buy the whole store! think of all the shoes i could get!

do you parallel park or drive around the block?

j: i drive a 3/4 ton mega cab. i drive around the block and park out in the boonies... but don't you worry, i can parallel park that baby if i need to! i've got skills!

s: this really depends on which vehicle i'm driving. my honda element parallel parks like a dream, the big chevy truck... not so much.

which shoe do you put on first?

j: this is the weirdest question, and i had absolutely no idea. after a little investigation i found that i tend to put my left shoe on first... huh...

s: i had to think about this one, but usually always the left... not sure why!

if you had to spend one year living alone in a remote cabin what would you spend your time doing?

j: reading, baking, hiking, photography, learning how to sew and knit, and possibly writing a children's book.

s: crafting. anything from taking pictures, sewing, making jewelry, painting to sculpting. how amazing would a year without interruptions be?! do i get to have the internet at my remote cabin? i might miss that.

if you could do something dangerous just once with no risk what would you do?

j: since staci stole my bank robbing answer... hmmm... compete in a demolition derby! smashing cars would be soooo fun! a little redneck coming out in me :)

s: i'll rob a bank and take the police on a high speed chase through a city, down along a stretch of freeway and to one of those brides that lifts up. i would jump the bridge and land on the other side as it's opening up and speed away at sunset. them move to my remote cabin for a year and craft!

we may look funny, but we get the job done :)

j: girl scout cookies. the samoas. if the girl scouts were smart they would stalk my house! i once spent $60 on cookies so that they would last me more than a week. yep, i have issues... and i love them! :) just found out there is a iPhone app for finding girl scout cookies! haha!
s: food. i just love food and it's starting to love my hips!

if you could work as an assistant to anyone for a year who would you choose?
j: stephanie willimas. she is my all time favorite photographer, and i adore her look books for ruche. amazing, amazing!
s: the photographer for anthropology. maybe i'd get some free cloths too.

if money were no object what kind of party would you throw and where?
j: a masquerade ball complete with costumes, traditional dancing performances and fabulous food. since money is no object... i would buy a castle and hire an coordinator for the whole event. fun times!
s: i would fly all my friends to maldives and rent each of them a little hut out on the water. we would have a giant pig roast on the beach with a live band and lots of dancing.

what would you love to find at a yard sale?
j: a van gogh painting that's worth millions. something that someone else thought was garbage. that would be soooo sweet!
s: oohh, there are so many thing i want from a yard sale. i would love an old pink kitchen set for a photo shoot. pink fridge, stove and free standing sink. can't you just picture it!

what one question would you ask a psychic about the future?

j: what are the winning lotto numbers for the next mega millions lotto?

s: are they ever going to invent the teleport machine so i can just transport myself places in an instant?

what would you try if you had no fear?

j: scuba diving. i think it would be an incredible experience, but the thought makes me feel claustrophobic. my brain can't wrap its self around breathing under water. just thinking about it makes my heart race...

s: i would sell everything we own and take all the money and travel the world. just be a vagabond for a year, bouncing from country to country, city to city, and document it in photos.
